why?

I look out my window in the early morning and see this!

And as I click the photo, this.

The otter is catching a rather large fish under my dock.

Why would I ever want to leave this place??? Have you ever asked yourself that question, when you’re about to change scenery? You’ve decided. You’re going. But darn.

Here, the north light is great for doing art. The lake lapping below me is a sound effect all would love. The view of the water and mountains… need I say more?

Well, I fell last fall. It was an accident that happened close enough to the house to get cell phone reception. Fortunately. Because my hip was busted. This is the kind of story that makes others worry, and I do think, okay… I’ll go to where people are close by for a few months.

Meantime, I’m not going to leave my art alone. No way. I’m planning to do a LOT more designing in the next while. I have silk scarves to create. And kimonos.

And I have SO much material on hand: years and years of hand-dyes silk:

Remember standing horse? Here she is in her yellow version.

Here are translucent silks (above) and solid silks (below)

Playing with colors – how line and form and light all affect them….

So, I’m guessing you’ve had to make transitions in your life, too, right? Some people are better at it than others. You find your way, don’t you?

For me?

I bring my art in whatever way i can. It brings me joy. And in time, I’ll offer more of that to you.

THAT I can look forward to.

Yes.

(Who’s checking for otters?)
